Research Interests

I am currently studying Kv1.3 ion channels in human T cells. These voltage-gated potassium ion channels help regulate Ca2+-signaling in T cells and therefore affect T cell proliferation, cytokine production, and differentiation. We are developing new techniques to study the roles of these ion channels in human autoimmune disease. I am also interested in artificial cell membrane systems (e.g. giant liposomes) to study interactions bewteen cell membranes.
