Divya Rao

Post-doctoral Researcher

Education

  • Ph.D.in Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry, Georgia State University, Atlanta (December 2007)
  • M.S in Medical Biochemistry, MAHE, Manipal, INDIA (August 2000)

Research Interests

The main focus of my study is to determine the rate of drug transport by multidrug resistance (MDR) proteins whose overexpression in tumor cells has led to chemotherapy failure in cancer. Our goal is to establish a novel chip based assay to study efflux on a single-cell level and, ultimately, on a single-protein level.

Personal Interests

  • I love to travel and taste different cuisines
  • I love dancing and enjoy long runs
  • I love the outdoors and play (but dont take me up on it) tennis, racket ball and volley ball
