The 2008 Biophysical Society Annual Meeting
was held in beautiful (and sunny) Long Beach, CA, February 2-6. Michael Mayer and Ricardo Capone (in collaboration with Jerry Yang's
group at UCSD) gave an exciting talk about their most recent work with gramicidin channels in supported lipid bilayers. The
rest of the lab presented posters (6 total) that attracted significant interest among the biophysics community. Other highlights
of the meeting included dancing with fellow crazy biophysicists, discovering the greatest Irish bar ever (well, at least in
Long Beach), and a legendary quest to find In-N-Out hamburgers. Good times by all...
